Our Life in 2012

Wednesday

This year has been one for the books. Here are some of our highlights this year ....

Michael left for Basic Training to Fort Benning, Georgia in January, only 20 days after getting married. This would be the first time we had been apart for such a long period of time. It was challenging, but we made it!

He graduated in March, and graduation day was one of the best days ever! We were so happy to see each other, 10 weeks is a LONG time apart when your starting a marriage.

We moved to Fort Gordon, Georgia, where he completed his AIT. This was our first time living away from home, and we LOVED Georgia. He completed his training and I worked while we figured out marriage and life on our own. It was hard at times, but we enjoyed our time in Georgia very much. The weather was fabulous and we made quite a few new friends along the way!

(sorry about he sideways pictures!)

We moved to Germany after leaving Fort Gordon. Luckily, we were able to go home for about 3 weeks, but in this time, we prepared for the biggest move of our lives! We were moving to a whole new country millions of miles away from our families, so it was stressful, but we eventually made it.

We found out we were expecting a baby boy not long after arriving in Germany! We were excited, but definitely scared. We hadn't planned on adding to our family this soon, but we have been very blessed to be able to grow from a married couple to a family.

It's been a crazy ride in 2012. Not only has it been our first year of marriage, but we have made some very major life changes! It's been a fun adventure inside the life of marriage, the Army, and adulthood, and we are looking forward to what 2013 has to bring!
